European Commission is considering ‘safeguard measures’ for EU countries close to Ukraine

Valdis Dombrovskis, the European Commissioner for Trade, told the Financial Times on Monday 22 January that the European Union would introduce safeguard measures to block imports of products from Ukraine if they were likely to drive down prices in EU countries neighbouring Ukraine, such as Poland.
