At the end of the second day of the informal meeting of the European Environment and Climate Ministers (see EUROPE B13328A2) on Tuesday 16 January, Virginijus Sinkevičius, the European Commissioner for the Environment, stressed the importance of the EU’s objective of reducing emissions by 2040, as part of the ‘European Green Deal’.
