20/12/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 19 December, and until 6 February 2024, the Commission’s European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) opened its call for cross-border renewable energy projects (CB RES) 2023. As part of the Connecting Europe Facility for Energy (CEF Energy) programme, a total of €50 million has been allocated to support studies and work on projects under CB RES. Only projects with this status are eligible for funding. These plans aim to resolve regional shortfalls in renewable electricity production, promote open electricity markets, strengthen Europe’s energy independence and reduce fossil fuel consumption by decarbonising the energy sector.
