European Parliament in favour of sanctions against those hindering Bernard Arévalo’s accession to power

On Thursday 14 December, the European Parliament called on the Council of the European Union to “immediately adopt targeted restrictive measures” against those who are obstructing democracy in Guatemala by preventing the elected president, Bernard Arévalo, from taking power on 14 January 2024.
