After almost 20 hours of tough negotiations, the European Parliament and the EU Council finally reached a provisional agreement on the corporate sustainability due diligence directive at around 8am on Wednesday 13 December.

The issues crystallized around the inclusion - or no - of the financial sector in the scope of the directive. On this point, the compromise reached is to the Parliament’s disadvantage, which had hoped to see the financial sector fully taken into account (see EUROPE...
