European Committee of Regions defends sufficiently funded cohesion policy after 2027

On Wednesday 29 November, the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) unanimously adopted its opinion on cohesion policy after 2027, prepared by its President, Vasco Alves Cordeiro (PES, Portuguese), and Emil Boc (EPP, Romanian).

The CoR stresses that the overall cohesion policy budget for the period after 2027 should be “at least equivalent” to that for the period 2021-2027 (including the REACT-EU top-up) in real terms, while the ‘European territorial cooperation’ strand should...
