28/11/23 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 28 November, the European Parliament's Subcommittee on Public Health elected by acclamation Adam Jarubas (EPP, Polish) as its new Chairman. After his election, Adam Jarubas declared that “health depends on the DNA code, but it must not depend on postal code”. He indicated that he wished to give the sub-committee new impetus, to focus its work on European pharmaceutical sovereignty and on the fight against health inequalities between and within countries. Work to ensure common health standards across the EU and to advance the European Health Union should be taken further within this subcommittee, according to its chairman. (LC)
