31/10/23 (Agence Europe) – Bulgarian diplomat Nataliya Apostolova has been appointed head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission for the Rafah Crossing Point (EUBAM Rafah) for the period starting 1 November 2023 to 30 June 2024, according to the legal act published in the Official Journal on 31 October. She will replace Romanian Colonel Mihai-Florin Bulgariu, who has been Head of EUBAM Rafah since 1 November 2020. Until now, Ms Apostolova was Head of the European Union Police Mission for the Palestinian Territories (EUPOL COPPS). The mandate of the EUBAM Rafah mission runs until 30 June 2024 (see EUROPE 13210/41). (CG)
