10/10/2023 (Agence Europe) – During a question-and-answer session with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe held on Tuesday 10 October as part of the Strasbourg plenary session, the Secretary General of the Organisation, Marija Pejčinović Burić, announced that Leyla Kayacik, her Special Representative on Migration and Refugees, was on her way to Armenia to meet refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh and list their needs. On her return, a plan should be drawn up to enable these people to return home. At the same time, the Secretary General hopes to send a mission to Azerbaijan as soon as possible to see how the authorities view the situation and to remind them that, as a Member State of the Council of Europe, Azerbaijan is obliged to apply the European Convention on Human Rights in full.
