11/07/23 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 10 July, the European Commission adopted the 2024 work programme of the European Research Council (ERC). This work programme includes new elements and changes that have already been communicated to the public and stakeholders for the sake of predictability (see EUROPE 13087/28, 13172/18). The changes concern assessments in particular. Scientific excellence will remain the sole criterion for evaluation. However, particular attention will be paid to the quality of the project. In addition, as part of a pilot project, advanced grants will be implemented using a lump-sum contribution. The other categories of subsidy will continue to be offered on an actual-cost basis. Other changes concern the structure of the assessment panels. The work programme is accompanied by an indicative timetable of ERC calls for 2024. Link to the programme: https://aeur.eu/f/800 (EV)
