19/12/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 19 December, the European Research Council (ERC) announced that its Scientific Council had decided during its December plenary meeting to modify the ERC application forms and evaluation procedures for 2024 calls. Some application forms will be merged and simplified (the CV and the ‘track record’) and applicants will have the possibility to add descriptions or explain career breaks or ‘unconventional career paths’, or to describe outstanding contributions during the research, in order to give more weight to the project proposal - as opposed to the past achievements of applicants - in the evaluation. This information will be detailed in the 2024 work programme. In addition, the Scientific Council signed the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment. (EV)
