19/12/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 19 December, the European Commission adopted the Belgian programme implementing the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) 2021-2027. The total amount of funds allocated to Belgium is €68.3 million, of which the EU contribution is €40.3 million. The programme will focus on sustainable fisheries, fish processing and aquaculture and the sustainable blue economy in coastal regions. Sustainable fisheries will receive 57% of the budget (including 31% for monitoring and data collection), 32% will be invested in sustainable aquaculture and in processing and marketing and 5% will be devoted to the sustainable blue economy.
