11/07/2023 (Agence Europe) – MEPs agreed, on Tuesday 11 July, on the Commission’s proposal to extend the suspension of tariffs on all imports from Moldova. They voted in favour of the report by Markéta Gregorová (Greens/EFA, Czech) with 577 votes in favour, 36 against and 18 abstentions. The text adopted incorporates the Commission’s proposal without amendment (see EUROPE 13173/24). Once the regulation has been adopted by the EU Council, it will extend the measure for one year from 25 July 2023. The following seven Moldovan products will therefore continue to be able to enter the single market without tariff quotas: plums, table grapes, apples, tomatoes, garlic, cherries and grape juice.
