05/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – At a joint press conference with his Swedish counterpart, Ulf Kristersson, on Monday 5 June, the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, said that there was “no risk” that the objectives set by his government ahead of the general election on Sunday 23 July would not be achieved during the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2023, according to AFP. At the end of last week, he said that he had asked the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, to postpone the presentation of the Council Presidency’s priorities to the European Parliament, originally scheduled for early July in Strasbourg, until September, in case the Spanish elections resulted in a change of Prime Minister.
