05/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – The Bonn Climate Change Conference (SB 58) began on 5 June and will run until 15 June. This crucial event to prepare for the decisions to take place at COP28, scheduled for December in the United Arab Emirates, is the last technical stage before the political phase. Discussions will focus on the global stocktake, the global adaptation target and a fair green transition. SB 58 is also focused on the implementation of the new fund for loss and damage, and the financing and transparency of climate action. On 7 June, the President of COP28, Sultan Al-Jaber, will be in Brussels to meet European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, at the Commission.
