ACER to consult on revision of grid connection network codes

05/06/23 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 2 June, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) announced the launch of a public consultation in mid-July to gather the views of stakeholders on proposed amendments to two European Grid Connection Network Codes (GC NC). These revisions are deemed necessary to update the existing regulatory framework “to ensure Europe’s interconnected power system adapts to emerging trends such as increasing number of electricity storage modules, electrical charging points for e-vehicles or the proliferation of distributed energy resources”, ACER states. This public consultation will be launched in mid-July and will last ten weeks. Based on the results, ACER will prepare a recommendation of amendments to the European Commission during 2023.
