09/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday, 9 May, the European Parliament voted in plenary on the resolution brought by Andrey Novakov (EPP, Bulgarian) concerning the new urban mobility framework. Despite strong opposition from the ECR and ID groups and division in The Left, the text received 485 votes in favour (with 31 against and 113 abstentions). Approved in the Committee on Transport (TRAN) in March (see EUROPE 13146/7), it aims to highlight the importance of developing the necessary infrastructure to facilitate accessibility for people with disabilities, those with reduced mobility, and the elderly.
