European Parliament makes recommendations to make standardisation processes more effective

09/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 9 May, MEPs adopted the own-initiative report by Adam Bielan (ECR, Polish) on the EU standardisation strategy. While they welcome the strategy proposed by the European Commission in February 2022 (see EUROPE 12882/3), they call for stakeholders, especially SMEs, to be further taken into account in standardisation processes (see EUROPE 13151/12). They also stress the need to harmonise the work of standardisation bodies in order to avoid contradictions in standards between Member States. See the adopted report: https://aeur.eu/f/637 (LM)
