18/04/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament validated, on Tuesday 18 April, the agreement reached with the EU Council on the visa liberalisation regime for Kosovo nationals (see EUROPE 13084/28, 11138/6). The agreement, announced by the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola (no request for a vote was made for this second reading), will allow citizens of Kosovo to travel to the EU - and EU citizens to travel to Kosovo - without applying for a visa for periods of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. The measure will enter into force when the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is in place, and in any case by 2024. The law will be promulgated on 19 April in Strasbourg by Ms Metsola and the Swedish Presidency of the EU Council. Link to the adopted text: https://aeur.eu/f/6co (SP)
