14/12/2022 (Agence Europe) – Negotiators from the European Parliament and the Council of the EU reached an agreement on Wednesday 14 December on granting Kosovo a short-stay visa exemption. The agreement reached provides for the exemption of holders of passports issued by Kosovo from the visa requirement for short stays of up to 90 days within a period of 180 days by 2024. “The visa waiver will enter into force when the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is in place and in any case by 2024”, says an European Parliament press release. Furthermore, Kosovo is encouraged to align its external visa policy with that of the EU and those Member States that do not yet have readmission agreements or arrangements with Kosovo should conclude such agreements or arrangements.
