UNITED STATES: EU27 will analyse Commission’s proposals to respond to US IRA

In Strasbourg on Wednesday 14 December, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, outlined her plans to counter the discriminatory effects of the US Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) (see EUROPE B13077A10) to the European Parliament. Above all, she relaunched the idea of a European sovereignty fund to support the ecological transition of the EU’s industry and announced a review of the European framework on state aid.
