23/03/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday, 23 March, the Court of Justice of the European Union convicted Greece of “systematically and consistently” breaching the directive (2008/50) on ambient air quality (Case C-70/21) (see EUROPE 12615/25). It believes that, in the conurbation of Thessaloniki, the daily limit value set for PM10 particles has been exceeded since 2005. Furthermore, Greece has not adopted, as of June 2010, the appropriate measures necessary to ensure that the period this limit value is exceeded is as short as possible.
