10/03/23 (Agence Europe) – Several leading European and international trade associations, investors and business networks are calling on the European Parliament to adopt an ambitious reform to transform the buildings sector, “responsible for 40% of total energy consumption and 36% of emissions in the EU”. They share their orientations and proposals for solutions in a letter sent to MEPs ahead of the plenary vote on 14 March on the revision of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. The same letter was previously sent before the vote in the Parliamentary Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. It reiterates the willingness of EU economic actors to implement ambitious and robust legislation and to play their part in the transition of the buildings sector.
