08/03/23 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 8 March, the European Commission launched a campaign to raise awareness of gender stereotypes called #EndGenderStereotypes. Launched on International Women’s Day, the campaign aims to unravel sexist misconceptions in all areas of life. It wants to promote an intersectional approach (i.e. facing multiple discriminations) while focusing on dialogue with young people. The campaign is part of the EU strategy for gender equality 2020-2025 (see EUROPE 12440/7). When the strategy was published, the Commission identified gender stereotypes as “a root cause of gender inequality”. To visit the website associated with the campaign: https://aeur.eu/f/5os (HS)
