European Commission approves registration of new Spanish agricultural name

07/03/23 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Tuesday 7 March that it had approved the addition of ‘Cebolla de la Mancha’ onions from Spain to the EU register of protected geographical indications (PGIs). Produced in the Castilla-La Mancha region, the ‘Cebolla de La Mancha’ is based on the characteristics of the Reca type onion, and a quality conferred by the production area and cultivation practices.
