DURABLE laboratory network will strengthen European capacity to combat health threats

01/02/2023 (Agence Europe) – The pilot network of DURABLE laboratories, set up by the EU Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA), started its activities on Wednesday 1 February. Coordinated by the Institut Pasteur, DURABLE will include eighteen leading European laboratories, providing scientific information for European efforts to prepare for and respond to cross-border health threats and to develop effective medical countermeasures. DURABLE will contribute to the development of tests or the identification and characterisation of pathogens to enable the development of countermeasures. The network is supported by €25 million in European funding from the EU4Health programme. (EV)
