25/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Tax Adviser Federation (ETAF) published on Tuesday 24 January its response to the European Commission’s public consultation on the BEFIT initiative on company taxation in the EU (see EUROPE 12721/3). The ETAF supported a mandatory system for groups with a consolidated global revenue of more than €750 million. On the calculation of the tax base, the ETAF would in principle support the Commission’s approach, but warns of a substantial increase in the tax burden for companies that do not use the accounting standards accepted by the EU. Finally, it strongly recommends that the allocation of the tax base between EU countries should only be finalised after the practical implementation of the first pillar of the OECD agreement. The consultation closes on Thursday 26 January. To read ETAF’s position: https://aeur.eu/f/52v (AD)
