25/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet), supported by the European Commission, has launched its fully unified marine data service, integrating all data into a single portal, the institution announced on Wednesday 25 January. Rapid access to reliable data and information is essential in addressing threats to the marine environment, developing policies and legislation to protect vulnerable areas and predicting future changes. For over a decade, more than 120 organisations involved in EMODnet have collaborated to collate marine observations and data from various sources and make them freely available. EMODnet will allow researchers and policymakers to retrieve hundreds of data and data products in one place, with a unified searchable catalogue.
