19/01/23 (Agence Europe) – Twenty business associations and investor networks sent a letter to MEPs on Tuesday 17 January, to encourage them to adopt an ambitious position on the revision of the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), three weeks before the vote (9 February) in the European Parliament’s ITRE committee. Coordinated by the organisations Corporate Leaders Group (CLG) Europe, Climate Group and Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change, the letter supports in particular the introduction of minimum energy performance standards (MEPS) for both residential and commercial buildings. “Businesses are looking to the European Parliament for clear and ambitious signals that will deliver the pace and scale necessary to achieve our climate targets. This is critical both for investment and for businesses to drive deep retrofitting,” commented Ursula Woodburn, EU relations manager for CLG Europe. See the letter: https://aeur.eu/f/4yl (DG)
