Brussels, 13/12/2022 (Agence Europe) – Ireland and France will benefit from an additional €73 million under REACT-EU, the European Commission announced on Tuesday 13 December. More specifically, the Irish Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning of the European Social Fund (ESF) will have an additional €53 million to assist refugees fleeing Ukraine with administrative, housing and public transport issues. In France, the Ile-de-France region will receive an additional €20 million from the ERDF to build bicycle paths and buy tablets for high school students. With €40 billion allocated in 2021, the Commission has paid €3.5 billion in pre-financing under REACT-EU since March 2022 to help Member States cope with the arrival of people fleeing the war in Ukraine.
