01/12/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission and South Korea agreed on Wednesday 30 November on a list of 85 geographical indications - 44 European and 41 Korean - that will be protected in the markets of both trading partners under their bilateral free trade agreement in force since December 2015 (see EUROPE 11401/27). This includes food products (olive oil, cheese, oysters, etc.), wine and spirits. Europe and Korea also agreed on a number of principles to govern e-commerce, echoing the partnership announced earlier this week in the semiconductor, next generation mobile network and artificial intelligence sectors (see EUROPE 13072/9).
