European Commission grants €192 million for a just transition in Latvia

01/12/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 1 December, the European Commission approved Latvia's Territorial Just Transition Plan. Drawing on €192 million from the Just Transition Fund (JTF), the investments will be particularly directed towards the regions of Vidzeme, Latgale, Zemgale and Kurzeme to support them in phasing out the use of peat, a fossil fuel.
