Commission consults to prepare new legislative initiative on high-risk chemicals and terrorism

30/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission launched a public consultation on Wednesday 30 November on new rules for the marketing and use of high-risk chemicals to prevent terrorist acts. “The risk of misuse of high-risk chemicals is high, not least because they are easy to buy”, the Commission said in a statement. The Commission is therefore working on a proposal to regulate access to high-risk chemicals that could be used by terrorists and other malicious actors. The results of this consultation will be used to prepare the legislative proposal. The consultation will be open until 20 February 2023. Link to the consultation: https://aeur.eu/f/4cu (SP)
