30/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – On the occasion of World AIDS Day, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the World Health Organization’s European office (WHO Europe) published, on Wednesday 30 November, a joint report highlighting the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on HIV testing rates. ECDC and WHO estimate that one in 11 people living with HIV in the EU and the European Economic Area remain undiagnosed. The report shows that by 2018 and during 2021, more people were infected with HIV than were diagnosed. Both organisations are calling for increased testing, more equitable HIV services and to combat the stigma that is a barrier to testing and care. Link to the report: https://aeur.eu/f/4DP (EV)
