18/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) launched on Thursday 17 November a call for input on the review of technical standards under Article 34 of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) covering the provision of investment services across the EU. The main amendments propose to add information that investment firms would be required to provide at the passporting stage. These changes are due to the continued increase in cross-border activities for retail customers. ESMA warns that if this development is not accompanied by enhanced supervision, investor confidence may be undermined and the achievement of the single market compromised. The consultation will close on Friday 17 February 2023. After considering the feedback, ESMA plans to publish a final report by the end of 2023. For more information: https://aeur.eu/f/450 (AD)
