18/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 18 November, the Single Resolution Board (SRB) - the European authority in charge of solving banking groups in difficulty within the euro area banking union - decided on its work priorities for the coming year. At the end of 2023, the transitional period will end, allowing the banks concerned to prepare themselves to be resolvable in case of default. “Resolution plans are in place. Now it is about testing and fine-tuning (these plans) and beefing up our crisis management capabilities”, said SRB president Elke König in a statement. She is set to be replaced at the end of 2022 by Dominique Laboureix (see EUROPE 13061/13). The end of 2023 is the deadline for the ramp-up of the Single Resolution Fund (SRF), the financial arm of the resolution component within the banking union.
