10/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 10 November, the European Parliament approved by a large majority (458 votes in favour, 73 against, 68 abstentions) the nomination of Frenchman Dominique Laboureix as head of the Single Resolution Board (SRB), the European authority in charge of resolving failing banking groups within the euro area banking union (see EUROPE 13051/21), for a five-year term starting at the end of the year. MEPs also approved by a large majority (463 votes in favour, 63 against and 74 abstentions) the appointment of Finnish Tuija Taos to the SRB Council’s Management Board. She will replace Slovenian Boštjan Jazbec, whose five-year term ends in March 2023. (MB)
