10/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – In the 9 November article entitled “European Commission unveils emergency measures to speed up deployment of renewables in response to energy crisis” (see EUROPE 13060/7), we indicated that the final text of the legislative proposal was identical to a provisional version seen by EUROPE. However, one significant change had escaped us. In the final version of the proposal, the Commission plans to limit the permitting procedure for renewable energy plant renewal projects (‘repowering’) to 6 months, compared to 1 year in the draft proposal.
