18/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 18 November, the European Commission adopted Normandy’s Territorial Plan for a Just Transition. This will provide the French region with €106 million from the ‘Just Transition Fund’. The plan includes support for the decarbonisation of large industrial emitters such as the chemical industry. Through investment in a new sustainable economy, it estimates that it will be able to retain 5,170 jobs while creating new ones. Finally, it intends to support the development of a plastic waste recycling plant and encourage investments aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The Normandy territorial plan is part of the partnership agreement for France’s 2022 cohesion policy, concluded in May 2022. (HS)
