31/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Monday 31 October that it had made an additional €100 million available on Friday 28 to seven Member States hosting large numbers of refugees. After an initial €248 million in May, this new support will help Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to provide immediate assistance to refugees, such as food, transport and temporary accommodation. These funds can also support their capacity to integrate refugees, including the most vulnerable such as unaccompanied minors. To ensure a rapid disbursement of funds, the Commission announced that it would release money based on results achieved, rather than actual costs. (CG)
