EU and Santiago are expected to conclude negotiations on modernised trade agreement in coming weeks

The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, met with the Chilean Foreign Minister, Antonia Urrejola, in Argentina on Monday 31 October. They both agreed to formally conclude the negotiations on the modernisation of the EU/Chile Association Agreement in Brussels in the coming weeks. This step will then pave the way for ratification of the text.
