Six cities in running for ‘European Capital of Innovation 2022’ awards

31/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – The jury of theEuropean Capital of Innovation(iCapital) awards announced on 28 October the names of the six finalist cities, selected from 12 semi-finalists, that are vying for the title of either ‘European Capital of Innovation’ or ‘European Rising Innovative City’ for 2022. The award is supported by the European Innovation Council (EIC) under Horizon Europe. The iCapital award is designed to encourage cities that support local innovation ecosystems and transformative innovation. One winning city and two runners-up will be announced for each category on 7 December at the EIC Summit in Brussels. The winning city in the first category will receive €1,000,000 and the two runners-up will each receive €100,000.
