27/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – During the vote in the European Parliament Committees on Budgets (BUDG) and Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON), MEPs strictly circumscribed the exception to the application of the ‘do no significant harm’ environmental principle for energy investments identified in the ‘REPowerEU’ chapters that will be included in the national recovery plans under the NextGenerationEU Recovery Plan (see EUROPE 13351/20). MEPs approved the amendment that restricted this exception to gas projects, thus excluding oil projects, contrary to the article published on Wednesday 26 October. The error has been corrected in the English and French versions published online. (MB)
