14/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 14 October, the Commission adopted a new equivalence decision establishing that Covid-19 certificates issued by Brazil are equivalent to the EU’s digital Covid-19 certificate. As a result, Brazil will be connected to the EU system and the EU will accept its certificates under the same conditions as the EU’s digital Covid-19 certificate, should it be necessary to reintroduce travel restrictions, the Commission said in a statement. At the same time, Brazil has accepted the EU digital certificate for EU nationals arriving on its territory. This decision brings the number of countries and territories now connected to the European system to 76. This equivalence will come into force on Saturday 15 October. (SP)
