06/10/22 (Agence Europe) – German and French companies are calling for an alignment of European and international sustainability reporting standards. As part of the 2nd Forum between business leaders and institutional investors, organised on Thursday 6 October in Hamburg with the Deutsches AktienInstitut (DAI), Sue Lloyd, Vice Chair of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), business leaders from France and Germany discussed the development of the ISSB’s international sustainability reporting standards. In a joint statement, the Association Française des Grandes Entreprises (AFEP) and the DAI say that the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) must coordinate closely with the ISSB to obtain meaningful and comparable data at the global level (see EUROPE 12711/5). “Only this will effectively enable and promote the investments required to build a carbon-neutral, and sustainable economy”, say the two organisations.
