25/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 21 July, the Board of Appeal of the European Financial Supervisory Authorities unanimously rejected an appeal lodged by an individual against a decision of the European Banking Authority (EBA) regarding payments, ruling it inadmissible. The appellant, whose bank account with his local bank had been abruptly terminated, had filed a complaint with that bank and with the national supervisory authority, which was unsuccessful. The appellant then filed a complaint with the EBA, objecting to the EBA’s individual decision not to open an investigation into the alleged breach or non-application of EU law concerning payment services and access to a basic bank account.
