On 18 July, the European Commission launched a call for proposals for a new Thematic Networks cycle under the EU Health Policy Platform.
Thematic networks are intended to foster knowledge and best practice among stakeholders and to initiate synergies with EU policies.
The selected organisations will draft a joint statement within 6 to 9 months, setting out their positions, available information and joint actions of stakeholders in three different health areas. The first area concerns the continuity of care for people living with HIV or AIDS, hepatitis, tuberculosis or sexually transmitted infections. It will include responses adapted for citizens of the European Union, the European Economic Area, or those who have fled Ukraine. A second issue concerns the cross-sectoral approach to reducing inequalities. Stakeholders can also work on mental health across all public policies. Finally, stakeholders will have the opportunity to propose participation in another health area, but will have to present relevant arguments for doing so.
The call is open until 31 August. The European Commission will evaluate the proposals for each topic and select up to three applicants. The successful applicants for the final Thematic Networks cycle will start in September.
