On Friday 15 July, the European Commission published a proposal to invite Ukraine to join the Convention on a Common Transit Procedure (CTC). This is a customs facilitation scheme adopted by the EU and seven other countries: Iceland, North Macedonia, Norway, the UK, Serbia, Switzerland, and Turkey.
The Commission considers that Ukraine fulfils all the criteria, especially in terms of IT, structural and legal requirements, to be eligible to adopt the Convention.
