EU Council welcomes results of EMPACT platform which has led to more than 31,000 arrests in three years

15/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Multidisciplinary Platform against Criminal Threats (EMPACT) has closed its 2018-2021 cycle with tangible results in the fight against organised crime with “17,723 international investigations and operations, 31,584 people arrested, 171 tons of drugs seized and 18,085 potential victims of trafficking and sexual exploitation of children identified”, the EU Council said in a statement on Friday 15 July.
