On Friday 15 July, the European Commission published statistics on its infringement procedures against Member States and the UK for 2021.
As a result, the Commission launched 847 new procedures. Belgium and Greece were the countries most affected, with 42 new procedures each, followed by Cyprus with 41. Apart from the UK (one), Denmark and Ireland are the best performers, with 18 and 20 procedures respectively.
